Who we are
Utico Water (PTY) Ltd is a South African water-engineering company. The ModMBR (Modular Membrane Bioreactor) is our flagship product — a decentralised wastewater treatment system that produces reuse-grade effluent from raw sewage, in a footprint small enough to fit on a typical farm yard or estate plant room.
The product is protected by South African patent ZA202407281 (filed 2024), and every unit is manufactured and serviced from Somerset West, Western Cape. When something needs attention, the engineer is in the country and the spare parts are in the warehouse — not on a ship from Europe.
What makes us different
- Patented modular design. Add one unit. Add ten. Each module is independent and can be installed, expanded, or replaced without taking the rest of the plant offline.
- MBR-quality effluent — ready to reuse. Treated water is clean enough to irrigate, flush, wash down, or top up cooling. Most clients reuse 70–85% of treated flow on-site.
- Two ways to own it. Buy the system outright, or take the ModMBR Service Agreement (MaaS) — a fixed monthly fee where Utico retains ownership, runs the maintenance, and you only pay for the service.
- South African support, in South African time zones. Locally built, locally serviced, locally accountable.
